ABOUT the founder & designer

Christy Howton is the founder & designer behind Papertree Studio. Christy has a Bachelors degree in graphic design from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Sciences (now Jefferson University). She spent a decade working for a prestigious editorial magazine & publishing company before venturing out on her own.

Based out of the Philadelphia area, Christy has worked with clients across the globe including California, Italy, Australia, England and beyond. Inspired by her travels, including some time living in Italy, Christy pairs an Old World European elegance with modern elements to create heirloom pieces that last a lifetime.

Papertree Studio has two locations. Our location in Old City Philadelphia is only for consultations. We also have a working studio in Williamstown, New Jersey.

A NOTE from the founder & creator

It is my passion as an artist to create heirloom pieces that evoke emotion, are timeless, layered in texture and ultimately beautiful.

I am deeply inspired by the grace and wonder of this world and its people, finding beauty in the small moments, joy and celebration that unfolds to make our most cherished memories.

I have been incredibly lucky to work with couples all over the world. I feel honored to be a part of their love story.

The save-the-dates and invitation suite are most guests' first impression of the wedding day, and I am so grateful that Christy's work was ours. From our initial meeting with her up to the final details (menus, place cards, cocktail signs etc.), she was so receptive to our ideas for the design and tone—taking my a weirdly niche or nebulous suggestions and creating something absolutely beautiful in response. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What types of printing methods do you use?

We use a a few different printers for our invitation suites. We offer flat printing, letterpress, foil press, engraving, debossing and embossing.
What types of payment do you accept?

For custom and collection orders we require a 50% deposit that will be applied to your final order. The final payment is due when suite is sent to press. Payment Methods: We accept checks, cash and credit cards through Intuit Payments. Payments made on this website are through Stripe. All transactions are completely secure. Checks are made out to Papertree Studio and mailed to the address on your invoice.
Do you offer envelope printing?

Yes, of course! We can print the return address and addressee on each envelope in a matching font and color from the invitation along with a coordinating design from the invitation for a starting cost of $3.50/envelope. We require an Excel document of your guest list as we will print your envelopes exactly as the names appear on that list. *We currently only offer this service for our clients.
Do you offer consultations?

We do offer in-person consultations for our bespoke invitation suites only. If you are interested in a collection suite we are happy to hop on a call to go over the process or mail you samples.
Do you offer printing for other designers?

No, we do not offer printing for other designers or companies right now.
Can you send me samples of your invitations and swatches?

Of course! Contact us for samples.
Are you able to rush orders?

Rush orders are available starting at $500. Please mention this during your consultation. Rush services are anything after the 12 week mark for your event. *Please note, we can only accommodate a few rush jobs per year.
Can you mail my invitations for me?

Absolutely, we actually prefer to. This is complimentary with out custom/bespoke suites. Please inquire for more information if you are a Collection client.
What is your return policy?

Due to the custom nature of our products, all sales are final. Please check your final digital proof very carefully before approving it, as we are not responsible for any mistakes made by you and do not offer refunds or reprints free of charge should errors occur (after receiving approval of your final proof).
